Masroor Hospital: Transforming Healthcare Access for Underserved Communities in Senegal
In 2019, Humanity First Canada established the Masroor Hospital in Rufisque, Senegal, a 30-bed state-of-the-art facility providing primary and specialized healthcare services. Since its inception, the hospital has treated over 15,000 patients, offering outpatient services, emergency care, surgical interventions, and maternal health support.
Equipped with modern facilities, including a surgical theater, ICU, and diagnostic labs, the hospital addresses critical healthcare gaps in Senegal. By offering affordable and accessible care, Humanity First ensures that thousands of underserved individuals can receive lifesaving treatments, fostering healthier communities and improved well-being.

Humanity First Canada is tackling water scarcity in Senegal through its Water for Life program. To date, over 400 water wells and hand pumps have been installed in rural and underserved regions, providing reliable access to clean drinking water.

Disaster Relief in Senegal: Supporting Communities During Crises and Natural Disasters
Humanity First has been at the forefront of providing disaster relief in Senegal, responding to emergencies such as wildfires and severe storms. In 2021, Humanity First assisted 236 victims across seven villages affected by devastating fires, distributing food packages, clothing, and household essentials.
Additionally, following severe storms in the Tambacounda region, Humanity First provided aid to 55 families in 18 villages, ensuring access to food, hygiene kits, and shelter support. These efforts highlight Humanity First’s commitment to supporting Senegalese communities during their most vulnerable times.

Promoting Health and Well-Being: Mobile Medical Camps and Healthcare Support in Senegal
Humanity First’s healthcare initiatives in Senegal extend beyond the Masroor Hospital to include mobile medical camps serving remote and underserved areas. These camps provide essential healthcare services, including maternal health checkups, vaccinations, and treatment for common illnesses.
Since the launch of healthcare programs in Senegal, Humanity First has conducted over 60 medical camps, treating thousands of patients who lack access to regular medical facilities. These initiatives reflect Humanity First’s unwavering dedication to improving health and well-being across Senegal.
