Rebuilding Lives After Disaster: Humanity First’s Earthquake Relief Efforts in Haiti
Haiti has faced numerous natural disasters, and Humanity First Canada has consistently responded with compassion and efficiency. Following the devastating 2010 earthquake, Humanity First launched one of its largest disaster relief operations, assisting over 50,000 Haitians with immediate and long-term support.
Our teams established medical camps, treated 27,000 patients, distributed food and water, and set up temporary shelters for displaced families. In addition, we supported orphanages and schools, providing essential supplies to restore hope and stability to children. Humanity First continues to stand with Haiti, committed to long-term recovery and rehabilitation efforts that empower communities to rebuild stronger.

Bringing Clean Water to Haiti: Tackling Water Scarcity Through Sustainable Solutions
Access to clean water remains a critical challenge in Haiti. Through the Water for Life program, Humanity First has installed water purification units and distributed thousands of water purification kits to ensure safe drinking water for vulnerable communities.
During the 2010 earthquake relief efforts, Humanity First distributed over 48,000 liters of clean water and set up community-based filtration systems, drastically reducing the risk of waterborne diseases. By providing sustainable water solutions, we are helping families lead healthier lives while reducing the daily burden of fetching water from distant, often unsafe sources.
Education for a Better Tomorrow: Building Schools and Supporting Students in Haiti
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and Humanity First Canada is dedicated to empowering Haitian children through access to quality education. The Masroor Primary School in Beauchamps provides a safe and supportive learning environment for over 100 students, offering opportunities to children in a region where educational facilities are scarce.
In addition to building schools, Humanity First has distributed educational supplies and transformed classrooms to enhance learning. These efforts are paving the way for a brighter future, ensuring that every child has the chance to dream and achieve.
